Description

The KBO made Pitchcom available for use in the KBO League and Futures League on July 16th. The Pitchcom set consists of a transmitter to input autographs and a receiver to listen to the inputted autographs. It facilitates the exchange of autographs and communication between the battery and the field during the game, which is expected to reduce game time. It also reduces the likelihood of autographs being exposed.

KT Wiz starting pitcher Wes Benjamin wore a PitchCom to the mound against the Kium Heroes of the Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League 2024 at the Gocheok SkyDome in Seoul, South Korea, on April 16.

Benjamin, who has used Pitchcom before in the U.S. minor leagues, pitched 6⅓ innings of five-hit ball (one home run) with five strikeouts and one earned run to lead Kiwoom to a 4-3 victory. Benjamin improved to 8-4 on the season.

KT used Pitchcom with Benjamin, catcher Jang Sung-woo, and the center fielders in the outfield, second base, and center field. Jang Jang-woo wore a transmitter to give autographs, while the rest of the players wore receivers to communicate with each other.

Benjamin, who received the catcher's autographs faster than 파워볼사이트 usual, pitched at a faster tempo against hitters. With runners on base, he was able to focus on battling the batters without worrying about signing.

While Benjamin was dominating the Kiwoom lineup, the batters also showed their strength. KT got on the board in the top of the first inning with a double by Kim Sang-soo and an RBI single by Hwang Jae-gyun. Rojas hit his 22nd solo home run of the season in the top of the seventh inning for a 3-1 lead.

Kiwoom scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth, but couldn't close out the game. In the top of the eighth, reliever Park Young-hyun struck out five to preserve the one-run victory.

Playing in Ulsan for the first time this year, the host Lotte Giants defeated the Doosan Bears 4-0 to snap a three-game losing streak.

Charlie Barnes pitched seven shutout innings, striking out nine. Park Seung-wook broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with an RBI double, and pinch-hitter Choi Hang followed with an RBI single in the next at-bat.

Victor Reyes hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to seal the game.

Meanwhile, the games between Jamsil (SSG-LG), Gwangju (Samsung-KIA), and Changwon (Hanwha-NC) were canceled due to rain and ground conditions.
