How Beautiful Sapa Valley Vietnam Is?

Sapa valley Vietnam is a highland district of Lao Cai province, at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level with an area of about 678.6 km2. It is mainly inhabited by the Dao, Tay, Giay, Xa Pho, Kinh, Hoa, and especially H'Mong ethnic groups, accounting for more than half of the total population. The natural landscape of Sapa Town is combined from the creativity of people together with the topography of the mountains, the green of the forest, like a picture with a harmonious layout, creating an attractive poetic look.

Immersed in the floating clouds, Sapa valley Vietnam is like a magical city hidden in the mysterious mist, making people feel like they are lost in a fairyland. This place has an invaluable advantage that is the fresh and cool climate, with many diverse features of 4 seasons in the same day. Located at an average altitude of 1500m - 1800m, this place has more or less nuances of a temperate country, with an average temperature of 15 - 18°C. In summer, Sapa Town does not have to suffer from the harsh sun like the coastal plain, and in winter it is often covered with clouds and sometimes even snow.

There is a full hydroelectric system, water station, asphalt road system and especially more than 200 Western-style villas in the center of town, interspersed between peach forests and samu groves. To the west of Sapa valley Vietnam is the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, which is always covered with mist in the early morning, along with the 3,143-meter-high Fansipan peak, which is very suitable for those who like climbing and trekking. Sapa Town is also a pristine place filled with ethnic minority villages like Cat Cat, Ta Phin, Sin Chai or Ta Van, beautiful landscapes like Silver Waterfall, Heaven Gate, Cloud Bridge, Wind Cave, Ham Rong Mountain,… This is a perfect destination for those who love nature and want to learn the culture, customs and habits of the mountainous people.

Ancient rock fields in Muong Hoa valley

Located 10km southeast of Sapa valley Vietnam, Muong Hoa valley is an attractive tourist destination, attracting people with its charming beauty of the converging landscape of heaven and earth. There is a mysterious ancient stone area, which is ranked as a national monument, is a unique heritage of the ancient Vietnamese people, holding special historical and cultural values. Interspersed between the grass and the terraced fields of ethnic minorities are hundreds of sandstone rocks engraved with drawings and strange characters that have yet to be identified with their origin and meaning. This is also known as one of the best check-in spots on your trip to Sapa.

Stone church

Built in 1935, this work was designed and built by French architects, and is now considered the only intact mark of this period in Sapa valley Vietnam. As a work built very early, Sapa Town Stone Church also experienced many historical events along with the land and people here, and was restored many times but still keeping its original design. The church is located in a prime location on an area of 6000m2, with an ancient Roman Gothic styled church consisting of 7 compartments, in front of which is a large courtyard where ethnic people often gather to buy and sell their craft products.

If you come to Sapa valley Vietnam every Saturday, you can witness firsthand the unique cultural activities of the ethnic minorities in what is often called the "love market". On this evening, everyone stays up late with folk songs of Hmong and Dzao boys and girls, with the sounds of lip lute, flute, and Hmong Khen. Along with that, there are prayer activities taking place on weekends with children singing songs and hymns in H'mong language. Taking a photo with Stone Church is definitely the desire of anyone when coming to this beautiful land, and you can also visit the mossy and ancient villas looming in the mist of Sapa Town.

Coming to Sapa valley Vietnam, you will have the opportunity to learn and discover unique customs in the lives of local residents, in villages, and enjoy unique traditional dishes. Hopefully the above information has helped you understand more about this foggy town, thereby preparing yourself for the perfect trips to Sapa.
