Description
László Tóth rose to prominence as an innovative architect in his hometown of Budapest. After escaping the turmoil of post-war Europe, he finds himself in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, residing in a modest back room of a furniture store owned by his relative, Attila. His career takes a significant turn when affluent siblings Harry and Maggie enlist his help to transform their late father's cluttered study into a peaceful reading space. Initially, Harrison Lee Van Buren expresses skepticism about the design. However, he eventually has a change of heart and presents László with a rewarding opportunity to bring his vision of a new community center to life. The narrative then shifts to the arrival of László’s wife, Erszébet, in America. What should be a joyous occasion becomes complicated by tensions involving Van Buren and various obstacles related to the construction project.
