Description

Manchester City's 115 alleged violations will be heard next month.

"The hearing into Manchester City's 115 alleged breaches of English Premier League (EPL) rules will begin next month," The Times reported on Wednesday (ET). The independent commission had been expected to start in November but will now begin in September unless there are legal delays."

In the 2022-23 season, City was the top club. They won their third consecutive Premier League title, beating Arsenal, and topped rivals Manchester United in the English FA Cup. The team also won the coveted UEFA Champions League, completing the triple.

Last season, City performed well enough. They went undefeated at the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Club World Cup and won the trophy. In the Premier League, they relegated Arsenal to second place at the end of the season and won four consecutive Premier League titles for the first time ever.

However, the club is now facing expulsion from the Premier League. "City have been charged with a total of 115 breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations over a nine-season period from 2009-10 to 2017-18," the Premier League's secretariat announced in February last year.

The timing was precisely after Mansour took over the club. Mansour had invested a huge amount of money in the club and bought players. However, he was accused by the Premier League of violating FFP rules because of the transfer fees he spent on players.

FFP is a regulation that aims to improve the financial health of European soccer clubs. Simply put, it's about spending what you earn. It states that the 토토사이트 추천 amount of money a club spends on transfers and salaries should not exceed a certain percentage of the club's revenue.

City are accused of a whopping 115 violations of the FFP rules. The Premier League's secretariat demanded a hearing, which will be conducted by an independent committee starting in September. The hearing is expected to last 10 weeks, with a verdict expected in early 2025.

City still denies the allegations. "The outcome of a separate legal challenge by City to the Premier League's associated person transactions (APT) rules is due to be revealed next week, meaning the hearing on the 115 charges could be held earlier," the Times said. City are understood to have had some success in the arbitration hearing."

However, if City's allegations are proven at the hearing, they could face a minimum of a points deduction and a maximum of relegation. "City face relegation from the Premier League if the most serious allegations are proven," The Times noted.

"The alleged breaches include failing to provide accurate financial information for nine seasons, failing to provide salary details for four seasons during Roberto Mancini's time at City, and failing to provide details of players' remuneration for six seasons. He is also accused of failing to cooperate with the investigation and failing to provide the required documentation for five seasons."
